Funding Proposal “Diffusing Privacy-Related Knowledge in our Society” Accepted 💸
Our transfer project Diffusing Privacy-Related Knowledge in our Society got accepted. The project is in cooperation with my CASA co-PI Prof. Dr. Thorsten Holz and the NGO Digitalcourage e.V. and will fund one PhD student for a duration of 36 months.
🠶 Summary: With the rapid advancement of social media and AI, the processing of private information has become an ever-present part of our daily lives. Privacy is a topic on the minds of many people, but it is rarely discussed in everyday conversations, and practical knowledge about protecting one’s privacy online is limited. This transfer project will develop a support infrastructure for privacy decisions and conversations by leveraging the social level. For this, we will develop supportive materials (e.g., advertisements, videos, or comics) for knowledge diffusion and fostering privacy conversations within our society and provide a set of essential “digital privacy survival skills” in cooperation with our transfer partner Digitalcourage e.V.
